Advocacy
Let Us Support You

RCMP/Court/Medical
We understand that the legal and medical systems can be difficult to navigate. Processes such as disclosures, reporting, RCMP, court, and medical/hospital visits can be confusing and overwhelming. Whether you are an individual, a school, or an organization, we can help you navigate these processes.
Our advocacy program is designed to help survivors of violence find support on their journey. We work collaboratively with local service providers such as Victim Service Units, RCMP, hospitals, and other health care centres to provide clients with an integrated system of support. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Crisis Intervention
- Emotional support
- Pre and post reporting options information
- Medical accompaniment* and advocacy
- RCMP accompaniment* and advocacy
- Emotional support and information for clients involved in court processes
- Community referrals
- Case consultations with schools, community organizations or workplaces looking for information and/or guidance for a particular situation
*Medical and RCMP accompaniments are available during business hours
In addition to the above services, the following resources may be helpful for people going through the legal system:
- Statement of Basic Principles of Justice (a list of victim’s rights during court procedures)
- How to Make a Complaint to the Department of Justice (if any of the above victim’s rights are infringed upon or denied)
