It takes an incredible team of individuals to do the work we do.

Meet Gibin, one of Dragonfly Centre’s child & youth counsellors. He shares with us about his most rewarding part of his role and what he’s learned!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is when your client have a Eureka moment or when they celebrate their small wins. A significant aspect I cherish in my profession is the esteemed privilege of gaining insights from my clients. Throughout the years, my interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds have facilitated my growth on both personal and professional levels.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned as a counsellor?

The opportunity to learn from the experiences of others is profoundly enriching. Engaging with individuals’ innermost thoughts and emotions fosters the realization that our shared experiences often outweigh our differences.

What advice would you give someone who is struggling?

An advice that I would give to someone who is struggling would be to have faith in the process. Life is like an ECG (echocardiogram), we will go through ups and downs and that adversities do make us who we are.

What do you enjoy most about working at Dragonfly Centre?

What I enjoy most about working at Dragonfly is the flexibility. The opportunity given to balance personal and professional lives is amazing.
